From Trash to Treasure with TerraCycle
hmorris October 2nd, 2009

So these guys from Canada came to Princeton with some worm poop in a bottle and 7 years later they have an eco-friendly empire with 200+ sustainable products, offices in 5 countries and a new store in Palmer Square to collect your trash! Okay, there’s more..a lot more..to TerraCycle, but I wanted to share some quick highlights from the grand opening that took place on Wednesday night.
The TerraCycle guys have come a long way from their worm poop origins and have been educating the masses on how to turn trash into perfectly useful products! More specifically from empty juice pouches, soda bottles, candy wrappers, potato chip bags and more.
The location of the store makes it easy for Joe-Palmer-Square-Stroller, because TerraCycle has a wall with cubby-holes to collect the throw-away items that will be used to make bookbags, notebooks, pencil cases and holiday bows. This is a simple project that families and even schools can get involved with. Visit TerraCycle online to learn how you can join or start one of their Birgades to help the environment. But you don’t need an extra 2 cents from me to tell you why it’s a no-brainer to participate because you’ll get the $.02 for each disposed item from them, literally.
Please take a minute this weekend to visit the store and learn how you, your kids, their school or your company can help participate in the TerraCycle program.
TerraCycle is located at 63 Palmer Square West in Palmer Square down the sidewalk from Bent Spoon.
